CURRENCY CONVERTER

Let the dopey name and the terribly punny-funny menu deter you and you'll miss a meal that may constitute one of your best food memories of Montréal, at least if you're of the breakfast-is-best school of gastronomy. Prices are low and portions are huge, ensuring crowds from early morning to late afternoon. One reader lauds the thick, creamy slices of French toast spiked with Grand Marnier and joined with mounds of fresh fruit. Eggs any way are special, too, even if the dishes are tagged with names like eggscaliber and eggsileration. There are 10 variations of eggs Benedict alone. Sandwiches and pastas are also on the menu. In summer, the restaurant stays open into the evening. The ever-expanding chain has additional branches at 198 rue Laurier ouest (tel. 514/278-6411), near rue St-Denis, and at 213 rue St-Jacques in Vieux-Montréal (tel. 514/282-0119).

Most items under C$12 (US$8.55).Open: Daily 6am-5pm (until 6pm Sat-Sun, later in summer).Credit Cards: MC, V.Métro: Guy-Concordia.
