CURRENCY CONVERTER

There are many delightful patisseries -- pastry shops -- in this French city, and this one, deep in the Quartier Latin, is one of the most popular. They serve light items -- quiches, salads, and sandwiches -- but patrons often settle down for just a sweet cake or a croissant and coffee, perhaps a bowl of café au lait. They stop in after dinner, UQAM classes, or a show at the theater across the street, or simply for a break in sightseeing. Check out what's available in the display case -- from Marie Claire pastries to mega-meringues -- and then find a table in one of several seating areas. As in most patisseries, there's no pressure to move on soon.

Most items under C$12 (US$8.55).Open: Daily 9am-midnight.Credit Cards: AE, MC, V.Métro: Berri-UQAM.
