This two-level structure near the Sherbrooke gate of the Botanical Garden exhibits the collections of two avid entomologists: Georges Brossard (whose brainchild this place is) and Father Firmia Liberté. More than 3,000 mounted butterflies, scarabs, maggots, locusts, beetles, tarantulas, and giraffe weevils are displayed, and live exhibits feature scorpions, tarantulas, crickets, cockroaches, and praying mantises. Needless to say, kids are delighted by the creepy critters and glistening mounted butterflies. During the summer, beautiful live specimens flutter among the nectar-bearing plants in the Butterfly House. In November and early December, check out the award-winning "Insect Tasting" (Croque-insectes), an event which features expertly cooked, spiced and sauced insects for your eating enjoyment!
