Le Swimming

A nondescript entry and a stairway that smells of stale beer lead to a trendy pool hall that attracts an equal number of drinkers/socializers and pool players (le swimming, get it?). Many Montréal bars have a pool table, but this one has 13, along with nine TVs and a terrace. Most nights of the week they have bands churning out ska, funk, reggae, or jazz. Open daily 1pm to 3am; pool is free until 5pm.

3643 bd. St-Laurent.Phone: 514/282-7665.Open: Open daily from noon to 3am..Cover from C$5 (US$3.55) Thurs-Sat (when live bands are booked).Métro: Sherbrooke.
