Right downtown, this jazz stalwart has been on the scene for decades. Sad to say, the eponymous owner, Charlie Biddle, died in 2003. Biddle's fills up early with lovers of barbecued ribs and jazz. The live music starts around 6:30pm and continues until closing time. Jazz is of the swinging mainstream variety, with occasional digressions into more esoteric forms. Whether any or all of those features will be retained was yet to be seen at press time.
