NIGHTLIFE: BARS & PUBS Frommer
Bleu est Noir

Wear anything better than a tank top and jeans or the January equivalent thereof and you'll feel conspicuously overdressed. Grungy and beery it is, with a battered sheet-metal bar, a pool table, and a beat-up fireplace -- all the better to receive neighborhood regulars from 3pm to dinnertime, and clogs of students from then until the third wee hour. A DJ works the turntables most nights, with live bands appearing many Sundays. When there's a cover charge, it's usually less than C$5 (US$3.55).
