Part of the complex that incorporates Le Capitole hotel and theater, this colorful trattoria is full of customers from noon to late night. The upholstered chairs are scarlet, the tablecloths are navy blue, and the walls bear dozens of boxed dinner plates autographed by celebrities, B. B. King and Anne Murray among them. Bread comes with a saucer of olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping. Fish and meat dishes are available, but pastas are the focus, 21 of them. Two to try are the ravioli d'anatara parmigiano -- duck-filled ravioli tossed with butter and cheese, and linguini del animatore -- sausage and mushrooms in a dark, earthy demi-glace. Soups are ordinary, but starters of veal, beef, or salmon carpaccio are worthy alternatives.
Main courses C$11-C$29 (US$7.85-US$21); table d'hôte lunch C$12-C$15 (US$8.55-US$11), dinner C$21 (US$15).Open: Daily 11:30am-10:30pm.Reservations advised for dinner.Credit Cards: AE, DC, MC, V.
