CURRENCY CONVERTER

The first American restaurant to open in Les Halles serves Paris's best burger, but it is also getting more sophisticated, with dishes like grilled salmon with coconut rice and sun-dried tomatoes. While listening to the jukebox, you can order black-bean soup, chili, juicy sirloin steak, barbecued spareribs, or apple pie. This saloon is the only place in Paris serving authentic New York cheesecake and pecan pie, and thanks to French chocolate, Joe Allen feels his brownies are better than those in the States. Giving the brownies tough competition are the California chocolate-mousse pie, strawberries Romanoff, and coconut-cream pie. On a regular night, if you haven't made a reservation for dinner, expect to wait at the New York bar for at least 30 minutes.

Main courses 11€-19€; prix fixe 23€.Open: Daily noon-12:30am.Reservations recommended for dinner.Credit Cards: AE, MC, V.Métro: Etienne-Marcel.
