CURRENCY CONVERTER

One of the city's most famous and popular Alsatian restaurants was established in 1930 by members of the Jenny family, who commissioned one of the noteworthy craftsmen of the era, Spindler, to create marquetry panels for the sheathing of the walls. Today, little has changed since its inauguration, except for the fact that the clientele is a lot more contemporary-looking than in the old days. Up to 220 diners can fit into this nostalgia-laden setting, where Alsatian Gemütlichkeit prevails. An ongoing specialty is the choucroute (sauerkraut) de chez Jenny, which is piled high with sausages, tender pork knuckles, and slices of ham. Also available are oysters, onion soup, grilled meats, and grilled fish. Any of these taste wonderful accompanied by one of the Alsatian wines (especially Rieslings) that fill the wine list.

Main courses 15€-25€; prix fixe 17€-24€.Open: Daily noon-midnight.Reservations recommended.Credit Cards: AE, DC, MC, V.Métro: République.
