CURRENCY CONVERTER

This is one of the finest places in Soho's New China. Taking up several floors, Chuen Cheng Ku has the longest, most interesting Cantonese menu in town. Specialties of the house are paper-wrapped prawns, rice in lotus leaves, steamed spareribs in black-bean sauce, and shredded pork with cashew nuts -- all served in generous portions. Other featured dishes include lobster with ginger and spring onion, sliced duck in chile and black-bean sauce, and Singapore noodles (thin, rich noodles, sometimes mixed with curry and pork, and sometimes with shrimp and red and green pepper). Dim sum is served from 11am to 5:30pm. We note, however, that the standard of service has slipped over the years.

Main courses £6-£16 ($9.60-$26); fixed-price menus £8.50-£25 ($14-$40).Open: Daily 11am-11:45pm.Closed Dec 24-25.Reservations recommended on weekend afternoons.Credit Cards: AE, DC, MC, V.Tube: Piccadilly Circus or Leicester Sq.
