CURRENCY CONVERTER

This offbeat restaurant serves great pub grub in what used to be a grungy boozer before Notting Hill Gate became fashionable. Now pretty young things show up, spilling onto the sidewalk when the evenings are warm. The pub is filled with mismatched furniture from schools and churches; and CDs of jazz and lazy blues fill the air, competing with the babble. It may seem at first that the staff doesn't have its act together, but once the food arrives, you won't care -- the dishes served here are very good. The menu roams the world for inspiration: Moroccan chicken with couscous is as good as or better than any you'll find in Marrakech, and the seafood risotto is delicious. Roast lamb, tender and juicy, appears on the traditional Sunday menu. We recommend the London Pride or Grolsch to wash it all down.

Main courses £8.50-£13 ($14-$21).Open: Mon-Sat noon-11pm; Sun 12:30-10:30pm.Reservations required.Credit Cards: AE, MC, V.Tube: Notting Hill Gate or Westbourne Park.
