It's difficult to find a good, affordable, non-touristy restaurant in the heavily trodden Haymarket area. But theatergoers are welcoming this class act, which offers good value, first-rate ingredients, and an informal but stylish setting. The Italian-inspired menu appeals to a wide range of appetites and tastes. One of the creators of the menu is Alberto Brunelli, who once worked at the fabled Harry's Bar along the Grand Canal in Venice. Tasty starters include grilled Sardinian smoked ricotta with marinated baby artichokes and a sun-dried tomato dressing, and lentil soup with Parmesan croutons and white-truffle oil. Pastas and pizzas are favorites here. Main courses get more ambitious, including a slow-roasted lamb shank with roast pumpkin and mint pesto, and a duck confit with mashed celeriac and pan-fried caramelized prunes and bacon lardons. The chocolate-marble brownie with vanilla ice cream will put you in a good mood for the rest of the day.
Pizza and pasta £4.95-£7.95 ($7.90-$13); main courses £7.45-£10.85 ($12-$17). Set 2-course menu £9.95 ($16) 4-7pm and 10pm-midnight. Children's menu £3.95 ($6.30).Open: Mon-Sat noon-midnight, Sun noon-9pm.Reservations rarely needed.Credit Cards: AE, DC, MC, V.Tube: Piccadilly Circus.
