Design Museum

The Design Museum is a showcase of modern design -- kind of like Pottery Barn without the price tags. It's the only museum in Europe that explains why and how mass-produced objects work and look the way they do, and how design contributes to the quality of our lives. The collection of objects includes cars, furniture, domestic appliances, graphics, and ceramics, as well as changing displays of new products and prototypes from around the world. The cafe offers panoramic views of Tower Bridge and the Thames.

28 Shad Thames, SE1.Phone: 020/7940-8790.Open: Daily 10am-6pm.Admission £6 ($9.60) adults, £4 ($6.40) children, £16 ($26) family ticket.Tube: Tower Bridge or London Bridge.
