Equinox

Built in 1992 on the site of the London Empire, a dance emporium that had witnessed the changing styles of social dancing since the 1700s, the Equinox has established itself as a perennial favorite. It contains nine bars, the largest dance floor in London, and a restaurant modeled after a 1950s American diner. With the exception of rave, virtually every kind of live dance music is featured, including dance hall, pop, rock, and Latin. The setting is illuminated with one of Europe's largest lighting rigs, and the crowd is as diverse as London itself. On Friday and Saturday nights, summer visitors can enjoy theme nights, which are geared toward entertaining a worldwide audience.

Open: Open Monday through Thursday from 9pm to 3am, and Friday and Saturday from 9pm to 4am.Cover £6-£12 ($9.60-$19) depending on the night of the week.Tube: Leicester Sq.
