NIGHTLIFE: THE CLUB & MUSIC SCENE Frommer
Cecil Sharpe House

CSH was the focal point of the folk revival in the 1960s, and it continues to treasure and nurture folk music and dance. You'll find a whole range of traditional music and dance here, with different evenings devoted to, among others, Irish set dances, English barn dances (similar to American square dances), dances from Louisiana's Cajun country, even re-enactments of 18th-century quadrilles. Although many of the regular patrons of this bar and dance club know these arcane dances by heart, they're usually charitable towards quick-learning and agile newcomers who can pick up the steps and the beat quickly. Call to see what's happening on the nights that you're in town.
