Named after the famous horse race in Siena, Italy, and owned and operated by an experienced Siena-born restaurateur named Fosco Nannini, this is one of the most appealing Italian restaurants in Bermuda. Set on the road leading to the Dockyards, within an 80-year-old house crafted from bricks and blocks of Bermuda limestone, it's outfitted inside like what you might have expected within a rustic farmhouse in Tuscany. The cuisine is tried-and-true Italian, with pastas that include fettuccine Alfredo, and main courses that feature veal with lemon-flavored butter sauce; a sinfonia of seafood, wherein a grilled or broiled (your choice) medley of fish and shellfish are artfully arranged on the same platter; tenderloin steak with peppercorns; and T-bone steak alla fiorentina are all competently and flavorfully prepared. We also recommend the fresh fish, especially the selection that's sautéed with bits of garlic and paired with pine nuts, capers, and hints of tomato sauce. There's a bar on this place's street level, but you'll have to climb upstairs to reach the dining room.
