Lined with bricks and aged paneling, this warmly decorated restaurant occupies a century-old building. As the restaurant's name implies, it boasts a porch with a sweeping view over the City of Hamilton's harbor, plus a wide outdoor terrace for dining in nice weather. There's also an English-style pub. Food is available throughout, even in the pub-style areas.
The menu offers routine fare, with an emphasis on meat, including prime sirloin steak (10 oz.); prime roast rib of beef with Yorkshire pudding; and steak with shrimp. Lunch features sandwiches, salads, fresh fish, crab cakes, burgers, and oysters. It's all quite competently prepared and straightforward. This is a nice place to just drop by for a drink and soak up the atmosphere, but don't expect too much. Navigate the stairs carefully as you climb up from Front Street, and be even more careful as you come down after having a drink or two.
