St. George's Golf Club

Redesigned by Robert Trent Jones, this is the newest of the Bermuda government's courses. On a headland at the northeastern tip of the island, it's within walking distance of St. George. Links run along the hillsides, providing panoramic vistas of the ocean. The winds off the water will significantly affect your game. On some par-3s, players need everything from a 9 iron to a driver to reach the green. The greens are the smallest on the island; some no more than 7m (24 ft.) across. The abundant salt air makes them slick.

This course isn't usually crowded at midweek. Greens fees for 18 holes are $57. There are no caddies. A full set of clubs rents for $24; gas golf carts go for $12 per person, handcarts for $8. Dress code: Bermuda-length shorts or slacks with a collared shirt; no jeans.
