Bermuda Arts Centre at Dockyard

In one of the stone-sided warehouses originally built by the British during their military tenure in Bermuda, this art gallery specializes in paintings, sculptures, and crafts, mostly by Bermudian artisans. New artists are featured every 6 weeks. Not to be confused with the nearby Bermuda Crafts Centre, with which it is not associated, it's sponsored by a local foundation and strives for more than a purely commercial approach to art. Canvases range in price from $175 to around $5,000; less expensive craft items are also for sale. Some of the staff members are well versed in the nuances of the art.

4 Freeport Rd, Museum Row, Royal Naval Dockyard, Sandys Parish, Ireland Island. Phone: 441/234-2809.
