CURRENCY CONVERTER

This is a terrific, offbeat addition to the Kensington Market neighborhood. It's so good, in fact, that you almost wonder why no one else ever thought of locating a classic French bistro on the edge of Chinatown. A quartet of Gallic flags announces its presence; inside, the 30-seat dining room is cozy and informal, with considerate, low-key service. The menu is classic, from ballantine of chicken stuffed with peppers and rice to lamb chops with a crusty coating of mustard and rosemary. If you're as much as a dessert fiend as I am, save room for irresistible citron tart and dark chocolate cake.

Main courses C$10-$18 (US$7-$13).Open: Sun-Thurs 5:30-11pm; Fri-Sat noon-midnight.Reservations recommended.Credit Cards: AE, MC, V.Subway: St. Patrick, then streetcar west to Augusta Ave.
