NIGHTLIFE: COMEDY CLUBS Frommer
Comedyworks

There's a full card of comedy every night at this long-running club situated on a jumping block of rue Bishop south of rue Ste-Catherine. Monday is usually open-mic night, while on Tuesday and Wednesday, improvisational groups work off the audience's suggestions. Headliners -- usually from Montréal, Toronto, New York, or Boston -- take the stage Thursday through Sunday. No food is served, just drinks. Reservations are recommended, especially on Friday, when early arrival may be necessary to secure a seat. Shows are nightly at 9pm, and also at 11:15pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Most drinks cost C$5 to C$9 (US$3.55-US$6.45).
