NIGHTLIFE: BARS & PUBS Frommer
Sir Winston Churchill Pub

The three levels of bars and cafes incorporated in the Sir Winston Churchill Pub are rue Crescent landmarks. One reason is the sidewalk terrace (open in summer and enclosed in winter), which makes a perfect vantage point for checking out the pedestrian traffic at all times. Inside and down the stairs, the pub, with English ales on tap, attempts to imitate a British public house. The burgers and such have to look up to reach mediocrity. A mixed crowd of questing young professionals mills around a total of 17 bars and two dance floors. Winnie, on the second floor, is a restaurant with a terrace of its own. Open daily noon to 2am. During the 5-to-8pm happy hour, drinks are two-for-one.
