It's lively, it's family friendly, and it's a great deal--no wonder folks are always waiting for tables. The menu is basic spaghetti-and-meatball fare; for the price of a main course, you also get salad, sourdough bread, ice cream, and coffee or tea (with refills). I've been wolfing down the spaghetti with browned butter and Greek mizithra cheese since I was a kid. Table wines are available by the glass or decanter. Part of a chain that always has creative settings, the restaurant is in a former printing factory, with some tables enclosed in a 1917 trolley car. The decor is lavish early bordello--fun for adults and stimulating for kids.

Main courses $4-$7 lunch, $6-$10 dinner.Open: Mon-Fri 11:30am-2pm and 5-10pm (Fri till 11pm); Sat 11:30am-11pm; Sun 11:30am-10pm.Reservations not accepted.Credit Cards: AE, DISC, MC, V.Trolley: Gaslamp Quarter.
