Don't show up here for dinner--the only hot thing you'll find is the small, crowded dance floor. But don't let that stop you from checking it out--Nickie's is a sure thing. Here the old-school disco hits are in full force, casually dressed young dancers lose all their inhibitions, and the crowd consists of all types of friendly San Franciscans. This place is perpetually hot, so dress accordingly; you can always cool down with a pint from the wine-and-beer bar. Keep in mind that lower Haight is on the periphery of a shady neighborhood, so don't make your rental car look tempting, and stay alert as you walk through the area.
