Little Russian Cafe
1424H Larimer St

Cuisine: Russian

This quiet, charming cafe combines old-world atmosphere with authentic Russian cuisine. Russian scenes grace the walls of the dimly lit dining room; there's also an outdoor patio. In the Russian tradition, you can, if you wish, begin your meal with a shot of ice-cold vodka (there are 30 varieties behind the bar) and a bowl of borscht. Main dishes include beef Stroganoff, goulash, and a variety of traditional Russian selections. The many meatless dishes include barenikis, poached dumplings stuffed with potatoes and onions with spiced mushroom sauce.

There's a second Little Russian Cafe in Englewood, at 2500 E. Orchard Rd. (tel. 303/347-0300).

Main courses $10-$16.Open: Sun-Thurs 5:30-9pm; Fri-Sat 5-10pm.Credit Cards: AE, DC, DISC, MC, V.
