When the Wynkoop opened its doors in 1988 as Denver's first new brewery in more than 50 years, it started a minirevolution: Since then, about 75 microbreweries have opened in Colorado. Wynkoop occupies a renovated warehouse across from Union Station and close to Coors Field. The menu offers pub fare, sandwiches, soups, and salads, plus dinners of steak, Denver cut elk medallions, and honey-beer-mustard chicken breast. A hearty option is buffalo sirloin steak with spicy, buffalo-wing-style shrimp.

Main courses $8-$16.Open: Mon-Thurs 11am-11pm; Fri-Sat 11am-midnight; Sun 11am-10pm. Bar open later.Reservations required for large parties.Credit Cards: AE, DC, DISC, MC, V.
