When you first take your seat at the Lime, your server promptly delivers a basket of homemade chips and salsa along with halved limes filled with tequila. This is a pretty good indication of what to expect: a festive atmosphere, top-notch, reasonably priced Mexican fare, and a serious emphasis on tequila. The house specialties are "Scorpions": flash-fried jalapeño halves stuffed with shrimp and cream cheese. These spicy little numbers are our favorites, but the fare is uniformly good. The menu runs to creative updates on Mexican standbys. A special nod goes out to the zesty green chile, with shredded chicken instead of pork. In contrast to the sleek dining room, the bar is one of Denver's liveliest and loudest, and the wait for a table can seem an eternity if you're looking for an intimate evening. But the bar mixes seven types of margaritas to help while away the time; the potent Mi-T Marg is the one to watch out for--it's about 50% tequila.
Main courses $6-$8 lunch, $8-$13 dinner.Open: Sun-Mon 11am-9pm; Tues-Thurs 11am-11pm; Fri-Sat 11am-midnight. Bar open later.Credit Cards: AE, MC, V.
