This bookstore is so big it supplies maps to help you find your way through its maze of shelves. Comfortable chairs are placed strategically throughout the building for those who want to check out the first chapter before buying or to rest up after a hike to the fourth floor. The store also provides a wide selection of newspapers and magazines, a bargain-book section, free gift wrapping, mail order, and out-of-print search services. An elevator serves all four floors. In addition, there's a full-service coffee bar, an enclosed rooftop restaurant specializing in New American cuisine, and occasional storytelling in the children's section. Hours are Monday through Saturday from 9am to 11pm, Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
