While the Seattle-based co-op has several stores in the metro area, its flagship store just west of downtown is one of the country's best and biggest outdoor-oriented retailers, and the place to go before heading for an excursion in the Rockies. (It is one of only four flagship stores; the others are in Seattle; Bloomington, Minnesota; and Tokyo.) The gargantuan store features a climbing wall, an outdoor bike-testing area, and a "cold room" to try out outerwear and sleeping bags.
