Owner Irving Fields has been in the business of serving healthful food for more than 28 years, and his flagship store's offerings are priced right. Due to its proximity to the courthouse, there's a lot of legal-eagle traffic and networking going on here. Locals love Granny's for the fresh fish and poultry specials, a line of salads that define greenery and good health, and the always-impeccable service by a family-oriented staff who likes to get to know its clientele. Tourists swinging through downtown on the Metromover or just spinning by can munch healthily on anything from a brown rice and steamed vegetable plate to Granny's famous tuna-salad platter. The chef's identity is a secret, but I happen to know he was trained under local chef extraordinaire Allen Susser and also did a stint on nearby Fisher Island's swanky members-only restaurant, so the cuisine here will most definitely please the palate. Granny Feelgood's sells its own line of vitamins and herbal products.

Main courses $9-$12.Open: Mon-Fri 7am-5pm.Reservations not accepted.Credit Cards: AE, MC, V.
