If you're going to a show at the Fox Theatre, this is a good place for a casual dinner. It's right across the street, and if you alert your waiter, they'll whisk you in and out in time for the show. There's not much fancy about Bridgetown. It has a laid-back attitude and decor reminiscent of the tropics, with reggae music, Haitian folk art, and a pleasant covered open-air porch. The thing to order here is spicy jerk chicken, served four different ways: in a burrito; grilled in a sandwich; as a main dish served with raspberry coulis (like all entrees, it comes with cucumber salad, black beans, and rice); or in a salad tossed with greens, cheese, and tropical fruit. Also worth trying are the guava-barbecued ribs and the sautéed chipotle shrimp. There's a full bar, but the house specialty is a frozen "mangorita" made with mango nectar. Very beachy.
