The specialties here are down-home classics served in a simple setting of leather booths at old-style Formica tables, a jukebox stocked with oldies, and waiters in white diner uniforms. There's a witty sculpture of a money tree in the dining room--perhaps to pay homage to the moneyed crowd, which comes here for updated comfort food. It's a good spot to bring the whole family, especially if you have kids who turn their noses up at anything more complex than mashed potatoes.
The place is full of memories of Mom: blue-plate specials such as meatloaf, pot roast, and roast turkey with corn-bread dressing, all served with corn muffins and two side dishes--the best of which is a six-cheese macaroni. Sandwiches, burgers, salads, and thick, old-fashioned shakes are other options. OK Café is also known for country-style breakfasts and brunches. Takeout is available.
Burgers, salads, and sandwiches $5.25-$7.95; lunch $8.95-$10.95; dinner $9.95-$11.95.Open: Sun-Thurs 7am-11pm; Fri-Sat 7am-midnight; takeout daily 11am-10pm.Reservations not accepted.Credit Cards: AE, DC, DISC, MC, V.MARTA: Lenox.
