If you visit the Atlanta History Center in Buckhead, this delightful restaurant is a great lunch option. It is a genteel spot with a "ladies' lunch" ambience, and the menu mirrors the setting, featuring fare such as salmon croquettes with cucumber relish and Dijon dill sauce. There's even a 1950s-style congealed salad on the list. The best choice, which has been on the menu for 30 years, is the Swan's Favorite: chicken salad in pastry timbales served with cheese straws and creamy frozen fruit salad. For dessert, order the French silk swan--a meringue base filled with chocolate mousse and covered with whipped cream and slivered almonds. There's a full bar.
Note: You don't have to visit the History Center to dine here; it has a separate entrance. A gift shop and art gallery adjoin the dining room.
