This little restaurant in the heart of Virginia-Highland is a neighborhood favorite, even though the kitchen can be uneven at times. Despite the fact that it opened in the mid-1990s, the interior, with its distressed walls and old wood floors, makes it look as if this has been a gathering spot for decades. There's a full-service bar and a covered terrace that fills up fast on balmy evenings.
There's a little of everything on the menu, from Asian to Mediterranean to traditional Southern. The portions are large, and the dishes offer a variety of distinct but complementary flavors. The menu changes seasonally, but there are three specialties nearly always on the list: sesame-seared ahi tuna, Georgia shrimp over Stilton grits, and Asian spring rolls. The wine list is reasonably priced and well chosen.
