Fine Greek dining has finally arrived in Atlanta. Opened in 2002 as the newest addition to the Buckhead Life Restaurant Group, Kyma is absolutely stunning, with 16-foot solid marble columns weighing 55,000 pounds each, a ceiling lit by twinkling stars, a broken plate wall mosaic, and a fountain cascading over a marble display of iced fresh whole fish. The brainchild of BLRG founder and president Pano Karatassos, Kyma is a contemporary Greek seafood tavern unlike any other.
The predominantly Greek staff adds authenticity to the Kyma experience. Chef Pano I. Karatassos--son of the BLRG founder--led the menu development for Kyma. He loves French fundamentals and uses a clean technique, featuring spices, acidity, and finesse. Kyma will delight you with an innovative menu full of true Greek flavors, including mezedakia (assorted Greek appetizers), whole fresh fish flown in daily from Mediterranean waters, favorite spreads, and other traditional flavors. Mezedes are typically shared and enjoyed with ice cold Ouzo, a Greek liqueur flavored with anise. Try a combination tasting of appetizers to get the full range of flavors and textures, from traditional Greek red caviar mousse to roasted red pepper purée with feta cheese. Though you won't be able to pronounce anything on the menu, the waitstaff is used to the grunt and point method used by most non-Greek-speaking patrons. Choose your meat dish and sides seperately (sides serve two people). Sit back and enjoy this unique dining experience.
