NIGHTLIFE: THE CLUB & MUSIC SCENE Frommer
Johnny's Hideaway

"Atlanta's Only Nightclub for Big Kids" has been one of Atlanta's top nightspots for the over-40 crowd for 20 years. Ebullient host Johnny Esposito, always on hand to greet his guests, is a well-known Atlanta character. The music sweeps through the decades, from the big-band era to the '80s, attracting a crowd of all ages. The music gets "younger" as the night wears on, and the patrons do, too. This is a place for serious dancing, and though it's unpretentious, there are celebrities who drop by when in town (George Clooney and Robert Duvall). Check out the Frank Sinatra Room, filled with over 100 pieces of memorabilia. A reasonably priced menu lists items ranging from deli sandwiches to prime-rib main courses. Attire is dressy-casual.
