Part restaurant, part jazz club, Sambuca is the third in a new chain of jazz cafes; the first two were in Texas. The bar is chic and large, and there's almost always a wait to get in, especially as the evening wears on. The big attraction here is the bar, not the restaurant, where there's a combo on the bandstand each night and a crowd on the dance floor. There are upscale couples and singles, often four-deep at the bar, and everyone is sharply dressed. Shows start at 7:30pm; there's a two-drink minimum in the bar, but no cover. If your main interest is the music, come early for a table near the bandstand.
