The vast upscale Lenox Square, which started out as a humble shopping center in 1959, has grown into one of the most popular shopping destinations in the Southeast. Its interesting mix of stores, many of them exclusive to the region, takes it beyond the usual cookie cutter mall, and the formula attracts locals and visitors alike. You can buy just about anything here, from hiking boots to an engagement ring, and even if you're not in the mood to buy, there's great people-watching.
Anchors include Neiman-Marcus, Macy's, and Rich's department stores, and there are 250 shops, restaurants, kiosks, and services in the mall, including 6 movie theaters and several fine dining restaurants. Two of the best restaurants are Prime and Brasserie Le Coze. Among the best-known stores are Ann Taylor, Britches of Georgetown, Burberrys, Joan & David, J. Crew, Warner Bros. Studio Store, a Metropolitan Museum of Art store, BCBG, Cartier, Sharper Image, Laura Ashley, Brooks Brothers, Max Mara, Nicole Miller, St. John, Betsey Johnson, Coach, Polo/Ralph Lauren, Bally of Switzerland, F. A. O. Schwarz, Speedo, and Louis Vuitton. Pottery Barn and Crate & Barrel carry a selection of home furnishings and accessories, including many items usually available only by catalog.
Open Monday to Saturday 10am to 9pm, and Sunday noon to 6pm, with extended hours during the Christmas season. A few stores close early on Saturday night. There's valet parking ($3) and a free shuttle to Phipps Plaza at the main entrance on Peachtree.
