Owned by Bacchanalia restaurant, Star Provisions is a cook's marketplace unlike any other in Atlanta. There's a small offering of locally grown organic produce, a cheese shop, a comprehensive wine shop, a bakery, and a specialty fish and meat market featuring Niman Ranch meats. There's also a large selection of unique tableware, cookbooks, and other gourmet-quality provisions such as olives, tea, coffee, olive oil, vinegar, and pasta. This place is nirvana if you're a serious foodie, but even if you're not, it's fun to look around and get a sample or two of cheese. And just try to sneak by the bakery with its fabulous array of goodies, including Bacchanalia's legendary Valrhona chocolate cakes, a divine confection with a gooey chocolate middle. Open Tuesday to Saturday 11am to 8pm.
