Cuisine: Light Fare/Fast Food
Price Category: Inexpensive

Newly renovated and double its original size (which was tiny), Swiss Cafe now has five Internet stations (3 of them with flat-screen monitors) and continues to serve excellent sandwiches and continental breakfast. Having gone from a sandwich-and-pizza shop to a European-style sidewalk Internet cafe, it still serves $5 lunch specials and $2 ice cream and remains a welcome stop in hot Lahaina. Top-quality breads baked fresh daily, Dijon mustard, good Swiss cheese, and keen attention to sandwich fillings and pizza toppings make this a very special sandwich shop. The Swiss owner, Dominique Martin, has imbued this corner of Lahaina with a European flavor, down to the menus printed in English and German and the Swiss breakfast of sliced ham, Emmentaler cheese, hard-boiled egg, and freshly baked croissant. Tip: The "signature melt" sandwiches, with imported Emmentaler cheese baked on an Italian Parmesan crust, are something to watch for, and there are excellent vegetarian and turkey sandwiches.

Sandwiches and 8-inch pizzas $5.95-$7.95.Open: Daily 9am-6pm.Credit Cards: Not Accepted.
