This is the quintessential country-club restaurant, open-air with mountain and ocean views. The glass-enclosed room is across from the Kapalua pro shop, a short lob from the tennis courts and golf course. The familiar Jameson's mix of fresh fish (sautéed, wok-seared, or grilled), stuffed shrimp, prawns, rack of lamb, ahi steak, and other basic surf-and-turf selections prevail at dinner. At lunch, duffers dashing to make tee time can opt for inexpensive "golf sandwiches" (like roast beef, turkey, or tuna salad). Other choices: fish and chips, crab cakes, and an affordable cafe menu of gourmet appetizers. Breakfasts are terrific -- eggs Benedict, eggs Elizabeth (marlin on a muffin with all the trimmings), or eggs Kapalua (crab cakes topped with poached egg and wild-mushroom sauce).
