Pukalani's inexpensive, casual, and very popular cafe features cows everywhere -- on the walls, chairs, menus, aprons, even the exterior. But the real draw is the simple, home-cooked comfort food, such as meat loaf, roast pork, and humongous hamburgers, plus home-baked bread, oven-fresh muffins, and local faves such as saimin and Chinese chicken salad. Soups (homemade cream of mushroom), salads, and shrimp scampi with bow-tie pasta are among the cafe's other pleasures. The signature dessert is the cow pie, a naughty pile of chocolate cream cheese with macadamia nuts in a cookie crust, shaped like you-know-what.
