(At Mass. Ave)

Location: At Mass. Ave
Cuisine: French
Price Category: Very Expensive

In a dark, elegant space off Mass. Ave. near Harvard Law School, Chez Henri is an example of how good fusion cuisine can be. Academic types and foodies flock here for French bistro-style food with Cuban accents. The menu changes regularly; to start, try house-made paté or veal sweetbreads served with garlic flan. Entrees include generous portions of meat, seafood, and vegetables. You might find a creative interpretation of steak frites (with Worcestershire demiglace), cod with lobster bordelaise and whipped potatoes, or a toothsome cassoulet. The dessert menu can be short on chocolate options, but creative use of seasonal fruit takes up the slack. The food at the bar is Cuban, as are the strong specialty drinks.
