The original House of Blues, a blue clapboard house near Harvard Square, packs 'em in every evening and on Saturday afternoon. It attracts tourists, music buffs, and big names -- Junior Brown, Michelle Shocked, Ike Turner, and Jason Mraz have played recently. And there's no telling when an audience member will turn out to be someone famous who winds up onstage jamming. The restaurant serves American fare with a Cajun accent from noon to 11pm Monday through Saturday, from 4:30 to 11pm on Sunday. The music hall is open until 1am Sunday through Wednesday, 2am Thursday through Saturday; most shows are 18-plus. Seatings for the Southern buffet at the Sunday gospel brunch are at 10am, noon, and 2pm; advance tickets ($27 adults, $14 children) are highly recommended. The music is live, the food is yummy, and kids just love it. Walk-ins pay just $14 but watch the action on closed-circuit TV.
