The Regattabar's selection of local and international artists is often considered the best in the area -- a title that Scullers Jazz Club is happy to dispute. Chick Corea, Irma Thomas, Joe Lovano, and Rebecca Parris have appeared recently. The large third-floor room holds about 200 and, unfortunately, sometimes gets a little noisy. Buy tickets in advance from Concertix (there's a $2.50 per ticket service charge), or try your luck at the door an hour before performance time. Open Tuesday through Saturday and some Sundays, with one or two performances per night.
