Around the corner -- and a giant step up in quality -- from Little India is Haveli, where the authentically prepared dishes, attractively low-lit dining room, and attentive service are far superior to what you'll find on East 6th Street. All of your favorites are here in top form, including well-stuffed samosas (meat or veggie), first-rate tandooris, and mouthwatering nan. Prices are a little steeper than what you'll find in Little India, but the Haveli experience is worth the extra dough. There's sidewalk seating in summer.
