NIGHTLIFE: BARS & PUBS Frommer
B Bar & Grill

Originally a Gulf gas station, this cavernous bar/dining room is '60s modern and attractive, with high ceilings, comfy booths, retro-style mood lighting, a large central bar, and the latest alterna-hits on the sound system. But the 6,500-square-foot tree-filled courtyard -- alfresco space that's otherwise unheard of in this city -- is the biggest draw. The bar offers a regular selection of signature drinks, including a Ketel One martini that even Bond could love. Come early for quiet, later for a pretentious party guarded by a velvet rope and peopled by a cliquish crowd.
