H&H Bagel

The king of New York bagel makers. Stop in at this bare-bones shop for a piping-hot bagel, so good it needs no accompaniment. Cream cheese, lox, and the like are sold in refrigerator cases for take-home use. All locations are open around the clock, so come by for a bagel fix anytime (although I'm told that the Second Ave. branch is run independently, and is not quite as good). If you crave more H&H when you get home, call tel. 800/NY-BAGEL or visit their website to order; they ship almost anywhere.
