Fauchon

This Parisian chocolatier operates a large, elegant boutique featuring an ultra-charming tea salon (at the larger Park Ave. location only), and sparkling glass cases display a gorgeous array of chocolates and sweet treats flown in daily; the candied fruits are among the most gorgeous foods I've ever seen. Afternoon tea is served daily from noon to 6pm (to 5pm on Sun); you can choose between a two-course tea ($30) or a lovely array of salads, quiches, and so forth. Beautifully packaged candies, biscuits, preserves, and the like make elegant and pretty take-home treats.
