406 Art Galleries

Several first-rate art galleries, some of them interlopers from Dupont Circle, occupy this historic building, with its 16-foot-high ceilings and spacious rooms. Look for the David Adamson Gallery (tel. 202/628-0257; www.adamsoneditions.com), which showcases digital printmaking and photography and the works of contemporary artists, like locals Kevin MacDonald and Renee Stout, and national artists KiKi Smith and William Wegman. The Touchstone Gallery (tel. 202/347-2787; www.touchstonegallery.com), on the second floor, is a self-run co-op of 35 to 40 artists who take turns exhibiting their work; and the third floor Eklektikos Gallery of Art (tel. 202/783-8444; www.eklektikos.com) represents regional, national, and international artists.
